The ducklings are getting too big for their brood cage (and my office!) so I put them outside to acclimatize while I figure out where to move them to. No sooner had I turned my back to go into the house to get their water when I heard movement behind me -- it was Henry, the Mother Hen... or is that Mother Duck?
Henry wouldn't even look at me while I tried to take his picture (I used the zoom lens to capture the first photo). I think he's trying to maintain some sense of dignity and decorum after getting caught fraternizing with the ducklings.

I love the look on his face. He proves that he is very caring.
The looks he gave you!! Wait until they get bigger, they will run every direction if he tries to herd them. That I'd like to see ... LOL
Yvette
Hi, Bindu -- thanks for your comment! Yes, he is a rather gentle creature.
Yvette -- the ducklings did get out and he actually did an amazing job of rounding them up! He's pretty ridiculous/dysfunctional with the rest of our animals, but I think he's found his calling with the baby ducks!
Love his face in that last photo. He is beautiful and those ducklings are adorable!
Hope you had a good weekend!
Hi Fiona
Lovely pooch.
My doggy and constant loyal companion 'Faith' is also very camera shy. It's almost impossible to get a decent picture of her looking at the camera.
Most of my shots are of her looking sheepishly away like Henry.
Does he actually get to herd sheep or just poultry?
Hi, Chris -- thanks! No sheep (yet!) for the poor dog, but he does get to "practice" on the goats and donkeys. That doesn't usually go too well...lol!
Awww, adorable Henry! I think you need to get a puppy for him. He'd love to have his own dog. C'mon, Fiona, he really wants a puppy!! ;o}
Wow those ducklings are getting big! And... I. LOVE. HENRY. - but you know that, LOL! Thanks for the Henry fix, haven't seen him in awhile :)
I can't believe he's so good to not want to EAT them! Wow. You are a good dog trainer!!! :)
